Acting auditions

December 31, 2009 by Editor · Leave a Comment

Acting is one of the most difficult professions to make a living in. There are all sorts of services aimed at actors to help them find work and tell them about acting auditions. It used to be that you had to be a member of the actor’s union Equity in order to get work as a professional actor. This is no longer the case. Getting to hear about the best auditions can often be very hard work though. Perhaps the most important thing to appreciate is that there are many levels within the acting profession and you have to start somewhere.

Most film, television and stage work is cast by a casting director. The top casting directors only deal with a very small number of agents who in turn only deal with the top actors. There are many agents who deal with the majority of actors. They will submit their actors for auditions for feature films, top television programmes and West End and regional theatre.
If you don’t have an agent, you are unlikely to hear about these acting auditions, let alone be invited to them. However there are certain shows, programmes and films that have what are called open auditions. We at Audition Now make it our business to find out about these open acting auditions and let you know about them.

Whether you just act for fun, would like to work on the set of one of your favourite television shows or believe you are destined for Hollywood, we’re here to help. Ambition is essential for success in your career, but you will also require a high degree of perseverance, skill and good fortune. We can provide you with some tangible assistance that will give you an undoubted advantage over some of your competition and that cannot really be a bad thing.
