Build relationships for social network links

Off page optimisation focuses almost entirely on link building. SEO companies have come up with all sorts of wonderful ways to forge inbound links for their customers, and some of the best ways in recent years have been through the social networks. If this is the course you’re taking for your site’s link plan, there is one key factor to keep in mind: relationships.
Don’t be fooled. Getting links from social networking is just as hard as anywhere else. You need to put in just as much work to get links from your social media campaign. There are certain advantages to participating on a social media network, however, which makes it easier to build relationships that will lead to links.
The main difference with using social media to build your link profile is the fact that you have a captive audience. It’s always much easier to make friends within a crowded room than it is a crowded street. The major benefit of social media networks is that there are a certain number of participants, a certain structure of networks and a set of rules to follow. Follow those rules, find the right networks and befriend the right participants, and the links will come flooding in.
It’s important to note that social media campaigns won’t result in instant links. Just like any other part of SEO, it takes time to get results. You can talk to our consultants at SEO Consult if you’re considering a social media campaign.
Inbound links are hard to get, even on the social sites. There’s no doubt about it. Link building can take up more time than any of your on-page optimisation if you’re not careful. Although many businesses have come up with ‘easy’ ways of forging inbound links, there really is only one way to get good-quality links.
